We support 'active travel' - by which we mean a more thoughtful approach to getting around the county rather than just getting in the car. This includes sharing cars where possible, walking and cycling where convenient, and using buses where available.
Plugged-in Midlands: Funding for Electric vehicle charging points
The roll-out of a national charging infrastructure for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles is becoming a reality, with Government agencies, local councils and private businesses all coming together to create a series of ‘Plugged-in Places’ across the UK.
Cenex (the UK's Centre of Excellence for low carbon and fuel cell technologies) are seeking organisations in the Midlands region on behalf of the governments Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) to host and operate Electric Vehicle charging points and become part of the Plugged-in Midlands project.
Grant Funding
On joining the Plugged-in Midlands project and becoming a host of an Electric Vehicle charging post you will be eligible for a grant contribution towards all costs that would be considered capital expenditure. See the leaflet below for further details.
